Chef & Owner Michael Prete opened The Kitchen Portsmouth in 2011 with his friend and former business partner, Matt Greco, at a time when lunch wasn't exciting. They took a space called 'Celebrity Sandwich' kept the theme but put more thought and effort into its ingredients and pairings. It has gone on to win awards and recognition as well as a visit from Guy Fieri with Food Networks #1 show, 'Diners Drive-Ins and Dives' as well as several airings on Phantom Gourmet. Awarded Restaurant of the year seacoast from NH Magazine, Chef of the Year from TASTE Magazine and winning people's choice 'Caterer of the Year' from TASTE Magazine every year since he started Portsmouth Catering Co in 2014 to today. Did I mention winning every chowder fest he ever entered? Three restaurants later, The Kitchen Warner is now his new homebase alongside

his wife Stephanie, who grew up in Hopkinton. She runs the front of the house operations with some awesome friends/employees like Ryelle, Margaret, Cassidy, Tiffany and some local talent joining the crew like Ashley, Alex, Adrien, Cedar, Nic, Marcus, Isaac, as well as local friends and Sous Chefs, Josh Bender and Max Dowling alongside Michael in the Kitchen together they are what makes The Kitchen awesome.
